Vegan Revolution, a start-up organization with a university club chapter in Monterey, CA, is dedicated to exploring the fun and creative ways that people can be kinder to themselves and the environment by dialing back their consumption of animal products. I worked on the design and web team for the organization for about a year, and served as Co-President of the club from February to May of 2016. 

As part of Vegan Revolution, I was involved in a hands-on team scoping the mission and vision statement as well as planning events. I was also able to create and release weekly emails to a subscribers list. This involved a weekly workflow of cooking, photographing food, uploading and using Lightroom CC to edit, and writing and designing appealing emails via MailChimp. 

During my time working with Vegan Revolution, by applying communications principles, I was able to increase the subscription list by over 20% and maintain a 21% average opening rate, higher than the 16% average for the food and health industry. These emails and photos are casual and accessible with fun and generally inexpensive ingredients that appeal to young readers.
